HSC Member Andrea Dávalos in the News

Our SUNY-Cortland based HSC researcher Andrea Dávalos is interviewed by Jeff Joseph for a Q&A in the 2025 spring issue of The New York Forest Owner. Joseph describes his dismay at realizing that he had inadvertently introduced jumping worms into his garden beds, not knowing until far too late what had happened. “As I really wish that I had educated myself about these creatures prior to them abruptly showing up here, which would have armed me with the information necessary to try and keep them at bay, or at least to have more of a fighting chance, I wanted to highlight the issue here in the magazine, in hopes that those of you out there whose property and woodlands are still jumping worm-free might take the necessary steps to remain that way.” What follows is a deep-dive Q&A well worth a read.
